The City of Florissant Parks and Recreation Department offers a vast array of parks and recreation opportunities to the community. The city has 19 parks, two recreation facilities the James J. Eagan Center and the John F. Kennedy Center, an ice rink and Performing Arts Center at the Eagan Center, the nature lodge at Sunset Park, an outdoor water park at Bangert Park, a splash pad at Koch Park, a beautiful 18 hole golf course, the disc golf course at Dunegant Park, and the 3.9 mile Sunset Greenway bike and walking trail which connects Old Town Florissant to the Missouri River.
In addition to these amenities in August 2022 Florissant voters passed Prop A which was a $10 million bond issue to build two new aquatic facilities in the City. One will be in Koch Park and the other will be at Bangert Park. Plans are being finalized and both projects are moving forward quickly.
Florissant is also within minutes of St. Stanislaus Conservation area, Columbia Bottoms State Park and the new St. Louis Zoo Wild Care Park.
