Crunch Fitness Coming to Florissant! - August 2024 Updates
Crunch Fitness
A national gym (Crunch Fitness) is interested in filling this space which has been vacant for over 4 years now. This is a 40,000 square foot space.
They have gone to P&Z and passed and will be in front of the City Council soon.
Crunch Fitness has over 400 locations around the country and recently opened a facility in Columbia, MO.
Once this spot is filled, there will be very few other large, big box vacancies (vacancies larger than 10,000 square feet) along the Lindbergh corridor within the city limits.
Narrow Gauge Brewery
The new tasting room is now under construction and expected to open soon.
They have been brewing beer already in the former Pool King but they also recently received approval to open their tasting room.
ALDI Update
Currently under construction and expected to open in the Fall!
Once completed this will be the 9th grocery store in Florissant (11 if you include Target and Walmart as well).
The city will then have 5 Schnucks, 1 Dierberg’s, 2 ALDI, 1 Sav A Lot, 1 Walmart grocery, 1 Target grocery.
Evolutions Group
The former American Cleaners building (next to Lee’s Chicken) was recently demolished and a new Oral Surgery Center called the Evolutions Group is currently under construction.
Kmart Update
Demolition is now complete and the City is working with the owner to find tenants for new development.
This 10-acre site will be marketed for several new businesses and the city and owner of the property are already reaching out to prospective tenants.
7Brew Coffee
Now under construction for a new drive through coffee shop located in front of Schnucks on Lindbergh in the former Crazy Bowl & Wraps.
Expected to open in mid September!
Lotawata Creek Shack
Opening near Cross Keys next to Firestone in the former “Kitchen” Asian cuisine location.
Owners of Lotawata Creek in Fairview Heights (past owner of Kenrod’s).
A smaller fast casual option.
Expected to open in the Fall!
Costello’s Pizza and Subs
A local Italian sandwich shop, pizza, and market has signed a lease at the train depot at Tower Park which was vacated by Mommy’s Design Farm.
Hoping to be open soon!
First Community Credit Union
Construction is underway at their new location on Howdershell (former Bank of America).
AllTru Credit Union
Recently broke ground on their new location on N. Hwy 67 across from Flower Valley, next to Discount Tire.
They hope to be open in early 2025.

Catering to You Old Town Kitchen
They are opening a 2nd location in the City of Florissant to provide more kitchen space.
Their original location on New Halls Ferry will remain open and this will just be an additional location, located in Old Town in the former Amore’s Pizza building.
Miscellaneous Economic Development Updates
We are working hard to make the next Tour de Florissant bicycle races an even bigger success and are proud to announce the new partnership with the Gateway Cup on Labor Day! This is an extension of our “City of Festivals” motto.
One of the top 10 bike races in the country and over the 4-day event around St. Louis thousands of athletes and spectators are expected to attend.
The city recently completed a hotel study to help the City of Florissant attract a high-quality hotel to our city.
The hotel feasibility study concluded that the city could support a new, upper midscale to upper scale hotel between 65 and 80 rooms.
The city has begun meeting with hotel developers regarding potential sites and the possibility of building in Florissant.
