Retail Strategies Represents Florissant at ICSC Las Vegas in May

ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) LAS VEGAS brought together more than 24,000 industry professionals for deal-making, all focused on the 1,000 retail brands in attendance.

The ability to access the decision maker for the specific conversation for one retailer, in one city, on one site, can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Fortunately, the seasoned professionals at Retail Strategies know how to navigate the conference to execute for their partner communities, with Florissant being one of them. They began material preparation and scheduling meetings in February which is how they were able to have over 300+ meetings with hundreds of retailers, developers, and other industry professionals.

While data is a tool, it’s people who do the deals. Showing up and having the conversation is a critical investment to success. Years of commitment to thought leadership and retail real estate experience give their partners the advantage of access. Retail Strategies team members led 2 of the 23 educational sessions offered at the conference, “Reshaping Communities: Innovative Strategies for Transformative Future” and “Tips for Community Advancers”.

The positive energy gave no sign of a looming recession. Retail brands remain extremely active building their 2024 pipeline for expansion now. ICSC LAS VEGAS is an important 2 ½ day conference, but we understand it’s the daily grind all year that leads to successful retail recruitment. Their team is committed to remaining focused on the goal of serving their municipal partners at the highest quality of service in the industry and works closely with Mayor Lowery’s office and the Director of Economic Development Patrick Mulcahy.

Retail Strategies represented Florissant at the conference and engaged in numerous meetings with retailers, developers, and industry professionals. Building relationships and engaging in candid conversations were key to their success. Retail Strategies spoke to many different retailers on behalf of Florissant including several new restaurants, sporting goods stores, clothing stores, coffee chains, and developers who are skilled in redevelopment of large parcels such as the former Kmart property. There was high interest from several different retailers and the conversations will continue well after the conference.

Retail is an industry that can pivot and innovate quickly. Retailers adjust their business models to adapt to changing market conditions and prioritize providing top-notch experiences for consumers. The industry is constantly evolving, with competitors ready to offer better services and experiences. ICSC Las Vegas is a significant conference, but the team remains focused on serving their municipal partners such as Florissant throughout the year.
